Why the payout moves
Spotify does not use a fixed rate per stream. It splits a pool by each track's share. This calculator uses US$2 per 1,000.
- Listener's country
- United States or United Kingdom: about US$1.75 to US$2.75 per 1,000. Mexico, Argentina, or Brazil: about US$0.40 to US$1.10. The calculator does not build that range. It keeps Spotify at US$2 per 1,000.
- Account type
- A stream from a paid plan weighs more than one from the ad-supported version. The calculator does not split those cases. It still shows US$2 per 1,000.
- Spotify's threshold
- Spotify only pays royalties on a track once it passes 1,000 streams in the year. Below that line, the estimate above is not paid out.
- Distributor and splits
- The gross drops if there is a commission or a split with producers and collaborators. TuneCore, DistroKid, and Indiefy do not all charge the same way. On Dropsland the plan does not take a percentage of royalties.

No. It is an estimate. The month, the country, and the account type move the number. A distributor that takes a percentage lowers it further.
Does Dropsland take a percentage?
No. The plan leaves 100% of store royalties with you. The charge is the plan fee, not a commission on every stream.
